I very much appreciate and respect your attitude about wearing makeup and wanting to look your best.  I put makeup on before leaving for the hospital to have my babies!!  As a recent breast cancer survivor, I know that it can often be challenging to make the effort, but also, that “looking good” is so necessary for self esteem and a positive mental attitude.

 

     I receive this news letter because my nephew, who is 7, has LCA and is legally blind (and TERRIFIC).  I am a sighted artist.  In order to spread awareness and understanding, I developed a hands-on workshop, called HANDS THAT SEE, where sighted students create unique pieces of ceramic art from the perspective of a person who is vision impaired.  I’ve done summer workshops with the kids at the Helen Keller Camp, too.  I even sometimes work as a makeup artist ----which brings me to my reason for writing to you.

I live in Suffolk County on Long Island, New York.  I don’t have a web site, and I’m not sure if you, personally, get inquires; but if you become aware of someone in my area, who would like to have her makeup done for a special occasion, please contact me.  If I can be available, I would love to help her look and feel great.  Prom and wedding season is here, so there might be someone who could use a “boost”. 

I hope that you will respond, and even if I can’t help someone now, I wanted to let you know that I applaud your efforts and wish you continued success and blessings!  Keep up the good work.
