which is a national eye research organization that funds more than 155
research studies at over 55 prominent institutions worldwide, including Emory
Eye Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Affiliate mission is to:
- Raise Public Awareness of retinal diseases and
The Foundation Fighting Blindness
- Raise funds for research to find a treatment or cure
for retinal degenerative diseases
- Provide a Support Group for those with
retinal degenerative disease and their families

You can also access information strictly about things happening
in and around Georgia regarding fundraisers and programs to help in the fight
against retinitis pigmentosa, macular degeneration, and other retinal
degenerative diseases.
The money raised through your donations to The Foundation Fighting Blindness
(FFB) goes toward research to help find a treatment or cure, and your
generosity is greatly appreciated. In the December 2001 edition of Worth
Magazine, The Foundation Fighting Blindness was named as one of the 100 Best
Charities. Charities were selected based on the worthiness of its goal and
success of its mission, financial data, peer review, ratings by groups such
as The American Institute of Philanthropy and the Better Business Bureau, and
expert opinion. With the IRS recognizing more than 819,000 charities in the
United States, it is indeed an honor to make Worth's top 100 list.
